Lifelong California residents decided to retire in the midwest, and purchased amazing acreage in Crane, MO. This new 3,000 s.f. home is a modern rendition of a residential barn. With it's clerestory monitor roof flanking the main living space & kitchen, it will utilize natural daylight to create a warm, bright living environment.

This unique, sloped site presented some challenges on how to orient the home to utilize natural daylight, function the way the owner desired, and have the drainage needed on the sloped site. The end result is the careful thought of how to use those elements as an advantage to achieve the desired orientation of the home.
